Gamethread: Royals @ Braves 6/20/2010
Chipper just put us on the board in the bottom of the first with a 2 run double. Happy Fathers Day everyone.

Well, at least Kawakami didn't deserve a win today. I'm glad to see Bobby used Martinez as a long reliever, which saves some other people innings.

And the pinch-runner for Hinske pays off as Hicks crosses the plate on a shallow left-field grounder.

Three runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead, and Wagner coming in to close it.

Glaus... gets injured diving at home plate on a play he didn't need to. Kendry Morales-like. Melky gave him the 'Stay standing sign'... Glaus still slides. Now he ges taken out by Cox. Looks like he's limping (hamstring injury). Sigh... Prado playing 1st, Hicks at 2nd, Escobar at SS, Chipper at 3rd.

He was going from first to home on a double, so it's not unusual that he felt he would need to slide. He was barely limping, so it was probably more precautionary that Bobby pulled him, particularly with the need for solid defense in the 9th.
