The Jason Heyward is Awesome Thread
I'm so excited about Jason Heyward. Holly crap. He's like the next Barry Bonds or something.

Me too but I want us all to play it a little low until he actually does something special. I also don't want us to fill his head with all the stuff that Francouer was receptive to which I think ruined him.

Who is Holly Crap?
I saw Heyward and thought about Bonds (the pre-1992 version) too.

That is to say Heyward is an actual baseball player.
He would hit a homer that night. Not sure if it was the next pitch, but it was awesome to watch it soar. I'm very happy I got to see him last year.

Thanks for the video Rain.
And thanks for the pic Dream.
I haven't seen him play in person yet. I'm hoping to get down to Orlando in the next month to see him up close. I haven't been this excited about a prospect since .... well Tommy Hanson. We are blessed to be Braves fans for the next few years boys and girls.

Yes! Jason Heyward is awesome! It's so much fun reading about him busting up cars in batting practice and even hitting balls OVER the parking lot. Position players are more exciting than pitchers. We get to see them everyday. I can't wait to see him play. I'm really mad at myself for not making my way to a Rome game when he was there, but it's looking like I'll see him at the Ted in a couple months.
I only have one favor to ask from chopnation. Please, please, please, nobody call him Jay-Hey. That is so freakin' stupid. I hate it. It's like nails on a chalk board for me to hear or read it. So please, chopnation, refrain from using that ridiculous excuse for a nick name. I'll love you forever and a day if you do this for me.

Buck Belue has been calling him Hay-wood. Don't know why but I kind of like it.

Hay-wood. I kind of like that. I get the feeling he might just be the best hitter in our lineup... this year. It's kind of fitting to call him Hay-wood.

You may be right. If that's indeed the case and if Glaus and/or Chipper can come back to form, we're going to have a fun year.
( But I keep having to remind myself that he's only 20.)

Considering Jason's age here are some examples of others in their first year and their respective age;
Albert Pujols/21 112-37-130-1-.329
Hanley R/22 119-17-59-51-.292
Hank Aaron/20 58-13-69-2-.280
Willie Mays/20 59 -20-68-7-.274
Orldo Cepeda/20 88-25-96-15-.312
SMusial/21 87-10-72-6-.315
and then we have Junior;
Griffey Jr/19 61-16-61-16-.264
Griffey Jr/20 91-22-80-16-.300
My point is who knows? I remember year after year waiting for Andruw to grow into his fullest potential and it was years before he had that magical 50+ HR season. But it was all downhill from there.
Jason is very special and most of it is truly up to him. It should be exciting to watch.

What are those, their locker combinations?
Seriously, though, what are you listing there? Runs, Home Runs, RBI, SB and Average?
