It all sounds good except for the 5+ years work experience. My primary function is as a web developer working on the back end of a client/server system that is heavily tied to a relational database (MySQL). Most of our data communication is done in XML. Presently, my job has me coding in PHP and C#, and I'm more than familiar with Ruby and Python scripting. I've also done a fair amount of HTML and CSS work for office productivity tools. Additionally, my home linux system is Ubuntu, and one should only assume I have a number of bash scripts running at all times...
By the way, do you have a link to the source of this job posting? Who is the organization? It's just as important to me to know who they are as it is for them to know who I am.

I think I took it off either Rotoworld or MLB.com. Either way, if you need a job that sounds exciting I think you have the right qualifications so I think you should apply.

I agree. Your skill set is more important than your experience.

Huh? Being over 50, I have no idea what you just wrote but I'm betting you're very good at it...whatever you do.
Rap thinks you have the right qualifications so that's good enough for me.

Thanks for the positive comments, people. I'm happy with my current job. I'm sure whatever MLB organization is looking to hire would offer very competitive pay. I just don't have the time to dig into this more.

Well, Don, you match better than me. I can do the HTML, CSS, PHP, I use MySQL, and XML, but most of my work is with ColdFusion and Flash/Flex, especially when working with XML.
Oh, well, I doubt if they would pay what I'm getting now, plus they probably don't believe in telecommuting.
Oh, LoveDem, being over 50 is no excuse. I'm almost there.

Nope, not my style.
For me, a computer is a tool; like a hammer or drafting board. I am a big believer in making my life easier by getting the most out of my tools. I am not the type to sit and play games on it all day.
Plus, I am not OVER 50 yet, still a little over a year to go to reach 50.

2010 Braves Career Fair (oh, and other Southern sports industry jobs)
I emailed the "more information" person and asked if positions for non-students would be featured at the job fair. If anyone's interested, I can let you know if/when I receive a reply.
