Wish I could p on his grave. MoFu is being mourned by his people who lost their "dear leader" who didnlt give a damn if they starved or not. But just wait till you see the son who is said to make his dad look like an amateur when it comes to looniness.

His son's ascension is far from assured at this point. It's possible that Kim Jong Il's brother-in-law might make a grab for power. Either way, it's got the potential to become a real mess there.

I met this guy at the Orlando Airport where we sat and waited togetherfor a flight. I also know a number of people who were his proteges. So I am sad that Joe Paterno has passed away although he did so with so much crap swirling around him.

My guess...Fez from That 70's Show.
Is it bad to guess something like that?

RIP Levon Helm.

By the way, I was wrong. He was cast in the new show Awake, which my wife and I rather enjoy.

First Dick Clark who I can remeber going back to my teenage years. Then the incredible pain I experienced upon hearing Levon was gone. Now sitting like a death knell waiting for news about Robin Gibb. We are now at the point where I am starting to feel that it is my friends who have begun dropping.

Junior Seau...apparent suicide via a shot to the chest. Another football player killed himself the same way in an effort to leave his brain available for concussion study.
Horrible end to a career of one of the best linebackers ever.

I totally agree and have been in shock all day becaue of his loss. The NFL better get its act together soon or there will be trouble. The players in the clubhouse right before the game are mostly praying to get through the game healthy. As soon as the game ends all players notwithstanding which team run to various gatherings and pary they made it through the game. Even the atheists are standing on the sideline being grateful.
So we have an NFL coach openly spouting support for head hunting and removing the heads from the opponents bodies. Then announces he has put out a bounty as an incentive.
In my opinion Greg Williams deserves to be banned for life. In addition, here should an investigation by the law as to whether any felonies might have been committed, and if yes, then to pursue the a-hole to the full hilt of the law.

Most former players I have seen indicate that the actual heads from bodies bit is pretty much the normal from defensive coordinators and coaches. It's "coachspeak." What is far more concerning is trying to talk up going after the knees and the ACL because the unwritten rule is hit me wherever above the knees, but leave the knees and ankles alone because that can end my career in a instant.
I agree that Williams should be banned for life, though I won't go overboard to say the law should involve itself. I think that's pretty ridiculous.
I also think there is too much of this "blame the governing body" for what we fans want. We cheer the big hits that safeties and linebackers put on offensive players. We cheer for the ridiculous 15-20 HR guy suddenly hitting 50 HR. We then cry foul when we find out those players who took the hit we cheered suffered concussion-related troubles for the rest of their lives. And it's Bud Selig's fault that he wasn't on the steroid mess.
Football is an incredibly violent sport and the NFL has made wonderful strides to improve player safety, but when you have players not wearing thigh pads and other such safety measures for added speed and comfort...
I'm sorry, but the players know what they are getting themselves into. It's the same with suing the tobacco company for sucking tar into your lungs for 40 years. Or blaming the company that your hot coffee was hot.
I hope all of the lawsuits are dropped. Should there be a better pension plan set up within the NFL? Probably. It's the worst of all of the major sports. All of this other stuff? It's on the players.
