It has been a long time since I submitted anything on my blog and that was because of various reasons that need not be divulged.
I thought what was going on now in baseball and specifically the Braves was enough to warrant me writing something up.
I became a Braves fan in 1957 and clearly remember that championship team which included Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews, Warren Spahn, Joe Adcock, Del Crandall, Billy Bruton, Johnny Logan, Red Schoendienst, Bob Buhl and the man...

1. What we're seeing with signing of Mitch J and Thurston isn't an indication that this is all Wren is going to do. I have seen us take on crappy players with the hope they will do well and that rarely happens.
2. That Javier Vasquez is adamant about not going to the West Coast. The Angels need a starter whether Vasquez does or doesn't exercise his veto. Thus if Javy stays then all the attention has to turn to Lowe. Truth is if Lowe was being paid even 10 million dollars a year I wouldn't...

The knowledge displayed on our forums might be the best I have seen anywhere on other sites. Bryce does yeoman's work and laying the foundation but so many then make valid contributions and that is what makes it a lot of fun.
Almost as much fun as when I was a kid and friends would sit around and dicuss trades. This was called the hot stove league because it occured during the winter months when it is bitter cold and many would sit around the hot stove drinking their hot chocolate...

- Congrats to the Yanks on winning the championship. They were clearly the best team in the game this year and one can say it was because of money but keep in mind they spent the money wisely and it is the first time in nine years that they have won while always spending the most money.
- I would expect the Mets to spend like crazy this off season but all I hear is that they may take another direction. I will believe that when I see it because New York City is not a place where you...

One who looked good at the end of the year but certainly is obtainable and young enough to turn it up; Delmon Young. Let Heyward handle RF and McLouth CF and try to sign Aubrey Huff to play 1B. If you get Delmon to complete the package the offense looks pretty good IMO.
