It's the beginning of the 6th and the Barves trail 2-1.

Elsewhere, the Astros were up 2-1 on the Phillies in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, and Rolliins hit a home run to tie it. They're in extras.

Rockies walked Lowe to lead off the inning, but a DP and weak grounder end the threat.

And that's all the Barves can get in the top of the 7th.

Rockies threaten in their half of the 7th, but it stays 3-2.

Hard to score if you keep hitting into double plays. It's our fourth one tonight.

Braves down to their last out.

And Derrek Lee makes that last out. Barves lose.

Maybe it's the Cubs influence, but when did the Braves become a "lie back and enjoy it" outfit? They made De la hose look like freakin' Sandy Koufax!

Wow. Ryan Howard just got tossed from the game for arguing strikes and mouthing off after getting a called strike three on a check swing. He lost it after that and had to be restrained while heading towards the third-base ump who made the call.
Phils have no bench players left. They'll have to put a pitcher in to play the field. Oswalt is in to play left field, and Ibanez takes over first in the 15th inning.
First hit is a can of corn straight to Oswalt.
And then Bourn drags a bunt to Ibanez at first hoping to take advantage of his inexperience, but he makes the play for the third out.

Houston scores two runs in the top of the 16th!
And it comes down to Oswalt at bat as the last chance for the Phils, and he grounds out.
Astros beat the Phillies.

Interesting observation. I think it fair to wonder if a losing mentality affects play, and certainly Derrek Lee has been in a losing situation in Cub-world.
Frankly, if Lee doesn't turn it around soon, maybe a rested Glaus, who could go on another "May tear", would be a better option come Sept 1.
I know Bobby is a patient guy with his veterans, but this is looking ugly....
Thanks goodness that we and the Phils seem to be winning and losing in lock-step.
Sample size is far too small to say anything one way or the other about Derrek Lee.
