I wonder if we have anything to do with the attitude this kid displays or is it just that he has been lauded since he was small and the pinnacle of that came when he had his rookie season with us. He plays in New York and I hear about him an awful lot but not very much of it is good. The latest is that he is going to meet with Omar Minaya to discuss possible destinations he might be traded to simply because Jeff doesn't feel its right for him to have to platoon. A number of NY writers are urging Omar to ask Jeff if he has seen game films of himself?

Interesting but maybe he is just stinks and shouldn't be in the majors? Check out this that I copied from MLBRumors;
How Reasonable Are Jeff Francoeur's Demands? (http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/08/how-reasonable-are-jeff-francoeurs-demands.html)
What a terrible thing hubris can be.

I'll make a wager here for a truly nominal amount: I bet Frenchy is somewhere in the Braves organization by next season.
They Braves should trade for Francoeur and send him to AA.

Exchange "Braves" for "Royals" and that's what I think is most likely.
I just don't see this organization ever having anything to do with Francoeur again.

Francouer will end up starting next season for the Royals and find himself benched and shipped to the minors by the end of the season. After that I have no clue how his ego will respond and what decision he will make, beyond trashing thge Royals management at least. I still find it interesting how the Braves have played much better since he was acquired and how the Mets have tanked a lot since then as well.

The reason I think he'll be here is: Bobby will be gone and we'll have a new staff that may well feel they can work with him; He is still very popular locally and a great marketing asset; if he sits in double A for a while and gets a healthy dose of batting the OBP way, he could still be a fine offensive player; sitting in the minors should knock that hat size down a few notches; we really need a left fielder, as McL, Schafer, et al, seem worse off than Frenchy, and Melky has no pop, and the rest of our platoon players have huge holes in their games, and he would excel there as a defensive player; I think he really wants to be here; and he may find he does not have many other options, and his dad may step in and get him to approach the Braves with some humility.
But, as I said, any bets would be of a truly nominal amount.

I don't see it happening. He wants to play everyday, and due to his obvious dementia, he believes he DESERVES to be a starting ML rightfielder despite obvious facts pointing to the contrary. Basically, he will whine where ever he goes, if he isn't playing everyday. I don't want any part of him.

I understand YOU don't want any part of him, but if he has no options but someone like the Royals, and he comes calling, I suspect for the right price and demonstration of humility, he'll be back to the Braves. Frankly, his value as a marketing commodity in Atlanta is too huge for the Braves not to consider him--again--and he can be had for cheap, I suspect.

He won't be cheap! LOL, he expects to be a highly paid starting outfielder! The Braves traded him for Ryan Church cuz they had had it with his little act.... If they bring him back I will be calling for FW's head on a platter.
He sucks, he ruins team momentum by swinging at crap... He hasn't learned how to make adjustments yet doesn't have the power to at least hit a ton of HR's and be kinda like a Rob Deer or King Kong kinda player.... in other words... he's replacement level.

If he is not getting good offers, then the whole "I am a starting outfielder" thing goes "poof"--to him. Also, if the Braves took him, they'd sign him to a minor league deal with big incentives that would force him to shape up to get back to the show.
He is the hometown hero--the Braves would listen because he is so popular here. The Braves may not bite, but they'd listen.

I think you are ignoring how much fan faith Francoeur lost toward the end. It was startling to hear him get booed at The Ted. Sure, there are some who believed the golden boy would eventually figure it out, but really, he's not a hometown hero anymore. He's simply the guy who could have been (insert name here).
I strongly oppose wasting even a spot in the minor leagues on Francoeur. Maybe I never liked him. Maybe I never saw the big deal. Maybe the joy I felt when he was traded still remains and I don't want that to subside any. But let Francoeur head to Japan to try to figure it all out. No reason whatsoever to take his .290ish OBP on anywhere in this organization. I'm sure Long Island will give him a call. They signed Rocker once, didn't they?

Let me get this straight, are you actually endorsing this plan? You want Frenchy and his horrible batting "strategy" back in a Braves uniform? Dear god man...... just say no! JUST SAY NO!!!!
He hasn't learned, nor adjusted nor changed his plan of "swinging at everything as hard as I can in hopes I make contact" ..... He may be the worst player in baseball.... No thank you, I'd rather have Juan Pierre!

We can take comfort in the fact that Wren seems too sharp to fall for any wistful Francoeur marketing memory. Wren knows he sucks (everybody knows he sucks). He won't be making his way back to Atlanta.

In addition to the names BFH mentioned Wren also had some interesting cheapness situations with Griffey and Furcal. Given the number of players he didn't want to pay I feel pretty confident Francoeur would be insulted by a hypothetical moronic Barves offer and no harm would be done.
