From the Braves' official Twitter:

Taking his spot in the rotation:
Braves (http://twitter.com/Braves/status/20413371331) Mike Minor will start for us on Monday (MLB debut). He will pitch two innings tonight in Gwinnett

Well, I hope Minor does really well. When locked in a dog-fight, it helps to get a strong dog. I am rather holding out for a Freeman sighting as well....

crap and double crap...... well I guess we get to see Mike Minor pitch and get a sense of what he's al labout(those of us that havn't been to a minor league game that is)...
I seem to recall ucl tears not being as season ending bad as other ligament tears.... I will go look it up and get back with y'all
well ,it appears that if no surgery is needed, 6-8 weeks of rest and rehab are ..... crap http://www.orthosupersite.com/view.aspx?rid=36022

I think surgery or no, we probably have seen the last of Medlen this season. Tough break.
Depends on the degree of the tear whether or not he'll need surgery but there's no doubt that he's thrown his last pitch in 2010.
Let's go Mike Minor!
That really sucks for the team and Medlen. But I know of a couple of pitchers who suffered a slight tear and didn't get TJ . One I believe is Ervin Santana of the Angels. I believe it happened to hiim early Spring of '09. He held off surgery and is on pace for 200+ innings this year. The other is that lefty closer who pitched for the Twins-Mariners-Rangers. I can't remember his name but he had a slight tear in his UCL the whole time he was in Seattle and still saved a ton of games for them. Eddie...somethingorother.
Anyway, bad news on Medlen but great news on KK agreeing to go to AAA to get ready. Let's hope Minor can give the Braves some solid starts over the next two weeks. If both he and KK are going great over the next couple weeks it'd become a wonderful problem to have with only about 5-6 weeks to go in a pennant race! Don't forget Huddy only threw 42 innings last year and he's currently on pace for about 230 this year! They absolutely need to get Hudson some rest so he's healthy and sharp coming down the final stretch. He's the ace of this staff.
