Braves are nursing a 1-0 lead after 5 innings.

No Heyward today. He apparently jammed his thumb sliding into third yesterday.

Melky made a nice throw to end the 5th inning by gunning out Doumit at home from right field.

Game is tied now after a triple by McCutchen and a sac fly.

And now the Pirates take the 2-1 lead and Medlen is done for the day.

Prado's hitting third. Glaus is hitting cleanup. I don't get what's so weird about that when you don't have Chipper, McCann or Heyward in the lineup.

And we're going to extra innings.

DOB says (http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blog/2010/05/23/heyward-sore-thumb-out-of-sunday-lineup/) it was last weekend, on Friday.

Here we go into extras, kids! 2-2 going into the 10th...

Well I'm listening to the Pirates announcers, so I wasn't paying much attention to the details of what they were saying.

Damn, Prado strikes out to strand two on base.

Doumit hits a walk-off homer. :furious:

So we field the AAA-1/2 team and it loses when we had a chance for the sweep, and the many regulars who are being "rested" still end up playing towards the end of the game, save McCann. Arrgh!! :banghead:

Wahoo

That was a helluva effort by our F squad. You can't expect to win games with a lineup like that, but fortunately that one doesn't get drawn up too often. It kinda feels like we gave that game away with that lineup, but when you have an old fogey, a blind catcher, and a rookie phenom to protect, it's hard to fault the manager on this one.

Side note: Yunel Escobar sucks.
