The braves have a solid bench this year, full of versitility, potentail pewer, solid defense, and clutch hits. David Ross is as good as most teams starting catcher, we have him as a back up to McCann. He an awesome defensively and won't embarass you with the stick. And I think I'm developing a mancrush on Hinske, dude is takes advantage of the few AB's he is getting. All he has done in 11 AB's is get 4 hits (Including a double and triple) and drive in 6 runs, not to mention 2 walks. He was a huge pick up for the braves and figures to play a big role for the team pick up for glaus and chipper as they recover from fatigue and injuries. I know Melky has been scuffling since the begin of the season, but he has had a knack of big clutch hits, and switch hitting off the bench will give bobby the luxury of playing match ups latter in the game. And Infante has the ability to play almost anywhere and is a respectable replacement anywhere you put him in the field and line up.

I was thinking the same thing the other day, but with a couple of caveats:

Hinske needs to get more ABs.

We need better production out of outfielders and 1st base.

Our bench would be even better if McClouth started hitting and we had a viable starter in LF that would relegate Diaz and Cabrera to the bench as well. Our bench is looking pretty good, but IMO could be much stronger just by finding a starting left fielder.
