How would the Braves handle it? Medlen I'd assume, would move into the rotation. What about two?

This article got me thinking about it, I only skimmed, but I sure hope Medlen will be our "6th starter" before Redmond or anyone else.

I was thinking the same thing when I read that article. Who are these guys and why would we be bringing them up?

Whoever wrote that article should be run out of town on a rail for even suggesting those callups! ( and for suggesting all those injuries!).

I've thought along similar lines to that article. The Braves had the perfect starting rotation last season and I do think injury potentials are being overlooked. The good news is Medlen would make a nice starting pitcher when the time comes. I doubt he's still a reliever at the end of the season. If the Braves make the playoffs I suspect it will be because of a bunch of young players coming through. More on that when I get the desire to make a blog post.

The only thing that would have made that "article" any better is if he would have put in some little league call ups.

Roman Colon's still pitching and he's a former Brave.

Don't like Colon? How about Jorge Sosa?

Want even more of the 2006 look? Horacio Ramirez.

Kyle Davies

How about that for a list of little league former Braves pitchers who pitched in AAA last season?

I was adamant that three of those four pitchers was going to be the real deal.

Hmm.....maybe I'm not as smart as I think I am.....:headscratch:

I was skeptical of them all save Davies. He really looked like he just needed to get his brain together and he would be a great pitcher... it seems he never was able to do that though.

Yep. There's no way you give up on a young pitcher with that kind of potential as early as the Braves did. Even if they were right, it's just not something any team should do.

I think Davies was just 3 or 4 years too young. Had he come up with Maddux and Glavine in full force... He woulda prolly developed a better mindset on pitching days... It really is sad how so many guys with immense talent, can never get the mindset together to be a major leaguer.

And are you skeptical of Medlen?

No...... I don't think Medlen was listed as one of the above options. I think Medlen will be a pretty solid #3 or 4 starter one day.
