Why do pitchers seem to save all their hits for when they face the Braves? Mingboggling.
Ganderson opens the fourth with a 1-2 single.
Dreamscape
07-28-2009, 08:23 PM
Esco follows with a single of his own and the Braves are in business.
Casey, another one of your famous three run homers would be real nice. Or just another hit.

Fielder's choice is acceptable. Runner to third for Church and a chance to tie this game up.
Come on, divine intervention!

Dammit, Ryan, the other guy who played right did that too often.

It shouldn't go unnoticed the great job Jair did to strand the runner at third with one out and Hanley Ramirez at the plate. Chipper rewards him with a bomb.

heck at least maybe jair could've bunted him over...

They signed Greg Norton to be a pinch hitter and no matter what, he will pinch hit, dammit.
Though, he really lacks the "hit" part of the equation...

Gonzalez hits a batter on an 0-2 curveball in the 7th, but strands two in a scoreless inning.
Pinto's first pitch of the 8th inning is a 91mph fastball that plunks Nate McLouth in the ribs. The Boog and Joe didn't think anything of it, but it didn't look like an accident from here.

It's especially funny because he hasn't taken it off. He looks like he's ready to go out there and do it himself.

The dugouts are wide open at this ballpark. You'd think they'd get with the 19th century and put a screen in front of them.

Boog just mentioned that the glove is to protect against foul balls. There is no protection in front of the dugout and they are very close to the plate.

I liked Boog's call on that one...
"FORGET ABOUT IT, WAY OUTTA HERE..."
Then Hermida jumps for the ball, which lands in the second row.

Okay, the mlb.com update had it up as "Final" with us up 3-2.
Kinda disconcerting to come on here and be ready to say Way2go ... and see that it was wrong. I even went back on (after reading all the entries here, shaking my head) and they've since corrected it.
:(
Thanks for picking up the thread today--got caught busy and without a computer for much of the day.

Sucky way to lose a game. Soriano's been automatic the entire year. "Forget it and go get 'em tomorrow."

Yeah, that was harsh. I was definitely counting some pre-hatched chickens. Soriano and the Braves will bounce back tomorrow.
I loved the play by Esco. Now he needs to do that about 8 more times to make up for all his boneheaded plays. :D
That jerk Marlins catcher stuck out his arm on that off-speed HBP in the 7th. I hope someone has the opportunity to drill him for real before the series is over.
I can't understand why Booby isn't using his best pinch hitters in a close, important game.
That was a great throw from RF by Church and a nice tag by Chipper. Who needs Jeffrey?

Just noticed that Frenchy is really hitting. Still cant bad mouth the deal, just funny how a change of scenery can help a young player. I think he has 15 RBI in his first 13 games with the Muts.
Yeah, doesn't really matter what he does up there--he wasn't doing it for us.

He's still got the same holes in his swing and poor pitch recognition. Eventually he will return to his old ways.

Heh heh. I was watching the game and reading here while job-searching in other tabs. Finding a job in this economy is not easy! I'm glad I still have something now that pays my bills, but I'm having a harder time showing up every day. To all of you who are managers or will become managers of people one day: we hate micromanagers. Leave us alone and let us do our work. Unless we've proven in the past to be slackers, you don't need to be checking up on our progress every hour on the hour. :banghead:
(Also, you're a healthy man who can walk down the stairs on your own. Don't ask me to go upstairs to bring you Advil. Not only do you have an admin who could do that for you, but you have half a box of single-serve packets of Advil on your desk.)
(I came very close to throwing the contents of that box all over his office desk and floor when I saw it.)
