Nothing happening in the first. Both teams were retired in order, but McLouth did miss a homerun by a couple of feet.

McLouth squares up a lot of balls.

Damnit, that sounded really gay. (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Jurrjens has allowed one hit through four shutout innings. He looks great so far. The Braves got Beckett in a little trouble last inning after Diory Hernandez started things off with a double, but Jurrjens messed up the sac bunt and the Braves couldn't get the run in. No score in the middle of the fourth.

Anderson and Kotchman get back to back singles to start the bottom of the fourth. Come on Frenchy. Let's get a run in here.

Jeff always bites at that pitch that is low and off the plate.

In his defense, they did call him out his last at bat on a pitch three inches off the plate. But you're right Hobbes, he didn't get it done. The little things are what is keeping this team from being viable.

Jurrjens deserves so much better than this crappy-ass offense ever has to offer.

Whats with Esco and KJ not in the lineup again...same night as McCann sits? Trade maybe?

Escobar is out because he's been trying to play through his hip flexor injury, thereby making it an issue for the rest of the season. (Reference: See Jones, Chipper)

McCann is out because of some dizziness he's experienced the last couple of days.

Johnson is out because he's being outperformed by Prado.

I'm leaving in about 15 minutes for today's game -- I've got horrible seats, but I don't care! :D As on Thursday, I'll be tweeting from BP and the game. If you'd like to keep up, you can see it on the sidebar of my blog or directly at http://twitter.com/braveslove :)

:wall: Beckett owns us.

As I sat in my usual seats, surrounded by noisy Red Sox fans, many of whom were Southerners, I could feel their traitorous hearts. As one who's been going to games since the glory days, it really hurts to see so few Braves fans at these games. We are third from last in the NL in attendance, I believe.

Arrgghhh!

I can only hope that Bobby will move on, we'll get a new SABRmetrics manager and front office (and new ownership) and join the winning clubs of the 21st Century....
