My draft for my $100 per team fantasy league is on the 14th. The draft order was recently drawn and we are picking 3rd (I have a co-mgr). It's a head to head league.
SO, my question is this, do you think my plan of taking Tulowitski with our first round pick then following with Granderson at 22 and McCann at 27 is a good strategy? My partner is pretty open to wtvr plan I come up with , but I wanted to get a 2nd opinion.
My logic doing this is that SS,CF and C are not very deep and I'd much rather settle for a guy like Freeman in the middle rounds as his production is likel to be closer to a superstar at 1b than a 2nd or 3rd tier SS,CF or C will be to their respective superstars.
Looking at the draft and assuming a few people will go pitcher in the first round (something I never do) I am about 80-90% sure I can get all 3 of the above players as it's a serpentine and not an auction style draft.
Opinions?
P.S. I plan to follow up by attempting to secure Uggla for 2B , then go for pitching for the next 2 rounds, I have a feeling Mark Reynolds will be lurking (or someone better even) for 3b a bit later on so I'm not stressing 3b as yet, I had Chipper last year and he did me fairly well.
