The one who did this (http://www.michigandaily.com/content/burke-hits-walk-home-run-18th-inning-oust-braves) to us.
Ugh. I hate that guy.
Whatever. They're probably going to let him get warm in AAA and then replace Diory.

...okay, first off, he really, really, really, really, really sucks.
But beyond that...have you no shame, Atlanta? I'm not all that sentimental and if a player can play, bring him in no matter what, but Chris Burke?
I just threw up a little.

chris burke is no braves' demon.....that game was lost by kyle sucksworth and, despite his grand slam, there was no excuse for laroche's lackadaisical baserunning in the late innings. those were the real culprits. i mean.....somebody had to score eventually.

Nope. Nope. It was Burke.

What's the diff? If the guy can play at all he's worth a look. I warned you guys a while back....you're about to see "old school Braves" circa 70s - 80s. Unmotivated manager, lazy players, very little direction and grasping for straws are all symptoms. They've already begun hiring washed up pitchers and infielders. .500 may soon become a Braves fan's wet dream.

Yep. The thing people forget about that game is we were one out away from winning when Farnsworthless gave up the tying home run to Brad Ausmus. Brad Mother Effing Ausmus, the most punchless everyday player in baseball. I hold way more of a grudge against Ausmus than Burke, because once we had blown a five-run lead I knew it was a foregone conclusion we were going to lose in extra innings.

It would have helped if anyone besides Andruw and LaRoche hit that series.

If a guy can play, sure, go pick him up. I wouldn't mind it if Chris Burke could play.
Thing is...he sucks. .239 hitter with a .674 OPS in 477 games. His minor league numbers were never that good either. I don't mind the Braves adding a crappy player...but Chris Burke? I don't care if he never even sniffed a major league callup. He's Chris Burke.
Perspective, people.

i remember being more angry with farnsworth, than with a lucky rookie that got a lucky hit in the 145th inning

Agreed!
But also agree with Dream that Burke sucks and also agree it doesn't say much for our team strategy to pick up one hit wonders.
Haven't heard Burke's name since he clearly proved he wasn't the next Biggio in Houston. Another highly rated prospect/No 1 pick who tanked. I doubt we'll see him but maybe the Braves have some irons in the fire for dealing one of our middle infielders and grabbed Burke as a "just in case". What the hell, he's a clone of Bloomquist and Bloomquist is working out great for KC this year. You just never know when one of these speedy utes is gonna suddenly have a suprise year offensively as a backup. Look at that year Betemit had subbing around for the Braves.
Speaking of Betemit, did anyone read that nasty quote from some anonymous scout who said upon Willie's release "Betemit might be the worst player in all of baseball". Geez...that's harsh. Sounds like something Ozzie would say.

So, you're saying he'd be an upgrade in right field for us then?
Ba-doom CHA!
