I really enjoyed this interview with Schafer in today's AJC. He was very humble and understanding about his demotion, and sounds confident in his ability to make it back to Atlanta and succeed once he does. I'm thinking there's another certain Braves outfielder who could learn a lot from Jordan.

Logan...
You are ahead of our right fielder in so many ways.
"This has put a damper on my relationship with the Atlanta Braves."
Oh, wait. Wrong outfielder

Very nice read. I would love to see him turn it around.

When he comes back, McLouth will be moving to the corner spot. McLouth may have won a gold glove last year, but I still consider Schafer the better defender by a surprisingly large margin.

It's not a surprise. McLouth is a Gold Glover in name-only.
Kinda like Francoeur.

Mclouth is aveage at best in CF. One reason he was traded. His gold glove was due to his offensive output and the fact the gold glove is a popularity contest.

I do think that Mclouth will be a + defender in the corner tho. His range is fair, his arm would be fine in LF, average in RF. But I think an outfield of Shafer, Mclouth and Diaz/Jones would be pretty decent on defense. And significantly better on offense.

If I quoted every part of that article I liked I'd be commiting major plagorism. My sense is that his suspension got his head straightened out and now he'd really good to go, really good to go. It sounds like the Braves have a really nice outfielder in him about ready to tear up the majors. Apparently there was a really good reason the Braves didn't trade him like I expected them to after the suspension, they saw he was an exception to the rule.

Its really refreshing to see a ballplayer who "gets it" in this day in age. I have rooted for him from day one and would have him in the lineup tomorrow if it was up to me.
