This is the place to discuss and speculate on the waiver trades the Braves could make or are rumored to be involved in. - BFH

OK, no rest for the weary. What happens next? I expect Wren will attempt to do a post deadline deal with waiver cleared players before the August 31 deadline.

A couple of questions I've got as far as what deals can be made. From what I understand most teams will immediately begin posting players thru waivers today. Do the players who clear waivers get published somewhere?

Also, anyone know what the rule is on teams trading players who are on their 40man roster but in the minors. Is that something that is not affected by the July 31 deadline? For example can the Braves trade McLouth right now for someone like Travis Snider who is on the Blue Jays 40 man but in the minors (not that toronto would do that)? Can they send down Melky and then trade him before the August 31 deadline for a minor leaguer or a waiver cleared player?

Be nice to know who the post deadline options are out there for a good RH bat. I've got a feeling Wren will be shopping for one.

What happens if/when McLouth earns his spot back and there's no room on the roster for him?

My guess is the Braves put Cabrera on the DL until September 1 due to acute intra-cranial vacuity.

I don't think it will happen after our trade with the Royals but Aaron Rowand intrigues me.

If Glaus injury problems worsen, Overbay would be a good insurance pickup. He's still a decent age (33) and hits about like Hinske but plays 1b like Kotchman. So he'd be a plus overall albeit another LH bat.

I was thinking El Caballo (Carlos Lee) for Lowe, but Lee has gotten so fat I think Lowes got a much better chance to outperform him over the next 2 yrs. Each has 2 yrs left with Lee being $3.5mil more per year. Even if Houston ate the $3.5 took Lowe and asked for nothing more I doubt I'd do that one after looking at Lee this year. (How about that 007, I just complimented Lowe!:))

Maybe if the Dodgers punt the season and the Braves can painlessly add Manny in some miraculous fashion, it'd be worth entertaining.

Not much else on that list intrigued me.
