I had the opportunity to meet Julio Teheran and the other 25 kids at the rookie development week yesterday at the stadium. Some of the rooks had much better people skills than others (and language barriers had nothing to do with it). I put a post up on Braves Love (http://braveslove.blogspot.com/2011/01/meeting-rookies.html) if anyone wants to see the autographs and read the girly account of the afternoon. :)

Oh well it's pretty terrible 80's style power ballad ( you tube the video it's so 80's!!) I figured out why it made me think of that song tho Lauren. At the bottom of the first paragraph you said someones Sister Crista came too.... guess it subliminally triggered a memory of that song for me!

Teheran was among the half who barely looked up and didn't speak. I liked Cory Gearrin a lot, though.

I keep hearing that Teheran is reminding so many people of Pedro Martinez. Is that true?

We didn't watch them play; I guess you didn't click the link. They introduced the kids individually, had a mass Q&A session, then an autograph session where the players were behind tables and we passed in front of them. About half were friendly, the rest were signing robots.

Robots maybe. Normal for kids just out of the womb would be more like it.

If I went to Germany as a very big fan and people all around me were speaking german and I had no idea what they were saying... I would have done the same thing. I would be looking down and signing the papers that get put in front of me.
