Businessfans' special day game. Its 4-0 Braves in the top of the 5th.
Padres
Hairston, J 2B
Headley 3B
Gonzalez 1B
Hundley C
Venable R
Hairston LF
Cabrera SS
Durango CF
Richard P
Braves
Prado 2B
Heyward RF
Jones 3B
Glaus 1B
Diaz LF
Gonzalez SS
Ross C
Cabrera LF
Hudson P
Query: Is there any team in the majors now that does not have a Cabrera or a Gonzalez on their 40 man roster?
And, no McLouth in CF. Have the Braves seen enough of him before the trade deadline?

Agon is finally having his breakout game in the ATL! Heyward and Chipper hitting well too and Hudson looks like that last start was a fluke! 4-0 Barves going into the 7th!

Middle of the 7th--still 4-0 Braves, and Huddy is working on a 4-hit shutout.

Hudson has a mighty top of the 7th and it's still 4-0. He's at 101 pitches so my bet is he's done for the day with a line of 7 inn, 101 pitches, 4 hits 0 ER's allowed. Purty tidy

Agon is 3-for-3, has 2 RBI; Glaus 1 RBI, Chip 1 RBI. A little insurance would be nice.
Philly and StL scoreless in the 4th....

They're walking Melky to get to the pitcher. I assume we'll pinch for Huddy.

Heyward is back and Gonzalez says shut up to his skeptics. Hudson isn't having a bad game either. So much for the Padres having a better record than the Braves, at least for now.

Pads are now on their third pitcher--Richard, then Webb, now Mujica after Chip's single.

That "single" was shoulda been ruled an error on the throw.

Pads finally get their third out, 7th is done. But, the Braves have a great lead and should be able to coast in.
Braves have 13 hits so far. Great attack.

Dunn in and walks 2 batters on 8 pitches. Unforgiveable. Throw strikes, dude. You have an 8 run lead!

I've seen both used in the last few game threads. I used Braves today.
Today was a good, old fashioned butt-whupping shutout. Great way to end the series.

Take that Padres! Who's your daddy? :)
Don't look now but we're on a pace to win 99-100 games. Even if we only play .500 ball for the rest of the season, we'll still win ~ 90 games, which is usually more than enough wins to get a team into the playoffs.
But barring a boat load of injuries, I just can't see this team playing .500 ball or worse down the stretch. It's too damn good.

We've only lost 1 out of the last 21 series we've played. That's scary good!

Were you watching or listening today? From Bowman on Twitter: mlbbowman (http://twitter.com/mlbbowman/status/19282160761) Hinske said he felt like he broke his foot once he got to 1B. But says he should be fine to play tomorrow. #Braves (http://twitter.com/search?q=%23Braves) And here's a followup from the AJC... Hinske day-to-day with foot contusion (http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blog/2010/07/22/hinske-day-to-day-with-foot-contusion/)

And if the Phillies put up a .600 winning percentage from here on out, they'll finish with 89 wins.
Things look pretty good for the Braves. *knocks on wood*

While I was posting I was watching the graphics at MLB.com. No narration, so it looked odd. Sounds like Ski's foot is sore, but okay.
Still odd to me to run a starting pitcher instead of a bench player. All we need is for a starter (even if a 5th one) to pull a hammy running the bases. That situation had Brooks Conrad written all over it.
