A couple of hard hit balls but no runs. Hope TH can keep things scoreless until the offense scores some runs tonight.

That was a wierd play. Ball hit the lip of the grass and took a high bounce over Mac's head.

Ugh now 2-0 Brewers. Their pitcher just picked up an RBI.

Braun hits a 2-run homer and it's 4-0 Brewers.

That's Braun's 3rd homer in 11 at-bats against Hanson.

Hot July night

No real time off

Lots of stress from having had that ba$tard Escobar in the clubhouse

Having to stand through the National Anthem

Our poor boys are just spent.

Perhaps the offense should have stopped for coffee before the game to wake up.

Nice play by Chipper & Mac to keep another run from scoring.

I haven't seen Hanson throw a changeup in months......wasn't this one of the reasons he was nutured a bit longer in the minors, to have a decent changeup to compliment his other 2 pitches?
I believe these hitters see a big difference between his fastball and slider and when you're up there KNOWING its one or the other, they have an advantage...
i dunno, i'm just pissed watching this game and watching these hitters tee off...

My bad, I didn't realize there was an actual thread regarding this topic about TH...I still stand by my satement, though it seems most of you don't think that his stuggles are to be concerned about...

I am with you but aside from his excellent month of April, he has been consistently mediocre this year. Looks like we are witnessing the dreaded sophomore slump. What's even worse is that he's about to enter foreign territory innings wise so his performance may not get any better. Kinda worrisome to me.

No he hasn't. He's given up three earned runs or less in nine of his fourteen starts since the beginning of May, and he's allowed two earned runs or fewer in eight of them. That is not consistently mediocre.

I hear ya'll, but my issue is why the inconsistency and I mentioned the fact that he's totaly forgotten about his changeup....do you agree with that?
We all know it's almost impossible to get by with 2 pitches...he's shown he's able to compete with the 2 but only if he's on...we've also seen the flip of it when he's not on....
why isn't he at the very least "show casing" the changeup it just to keep hitters honest ?
BMac's fault?
Lack of Confidence?

or maybe ....TEAM SPIRIT?(had to throw that in for Slayer and Dream)

Not BMac's fault. He is one of the best pitch callers around. Matter of fact if the Braves could find some way to get the yankees to take Lowe for Burnett or Vazquez (and wash out the $) they would get an amazing dividend. From what I've observed Burnett and Javy are two guys who would be dominant again if they had a catcher who could call a good game like BMac. And ESPN would write their resurgence off to the "weaker NL competition" LOL.

I forgot to DVR the game, but I was at this one and was wondering if they showed this on TV... TP's son sang the national anthem, then led the audience in singing Happy Birthday to his dad. I recorded and put it on Braves Love (http://braveslove.blogspot.com/2010/07/game-day-pictures-braves-vs-brewers-7.html) if anyone's interested. TP was clearly proud of his son, and TP Jr is very talented. :)

Unfortunately, singing isn't one of Junior's talents, but it's the thought that counts.

"Happy Birthday" was overtaken by my friend singing next to me. The national anthem was all TP Jr. I thought he did much better than the other dozen or so I've heard at the ballpark this year.
