So, do you think the Braves will hire him in a small role in 2010 or wait till 2011? ;)

I bet that Bobby has called him already. He will be hired before July 1 and will wait in the wings for 2011. I like it!
I don't think there's any rush for Fredi or the Braves. Giving him a MLB job this season may seem a little gauche and pretty much would singal the Braves' intent and discourage any potential candidates to interview for a job they've got no real chance of winning.
If he's who Frank Wren and the front office brass want, what's more likely to occur is a gentleman's agreement on managing next season, with a interview process just to make things "fair."
If they do hire him this season, it will likely be a small advisor role and not anything on-field.

...next stop Atlanta? What are your thoughts? Did Luria fire Fredi because Luria assumed he was gone in 2011 to the Barves anyway and like a jealous girlfriend, he wanted to "break-up" first? Anyway you cut it, this certainly clears the decks for Gonzalez to take a seat on the Barves' bench next year....

I was surprised by this move, Gonzalez is a good baseball guy and has talent to become a great manager. If the Braves are interested, this will give Gonzalez plenty of time to get to know the team and the guys on the farm!
