Yay Braves! Why is Diaz leading off? That's ridiculous! Go Braves! Stomp the Padres!

Matt Diaz is leading off tonight for the Bravos, who've apparently seen enough, for a day at least, of the McLouth/Cabrera tandem at the top

I just think he's an odd choice. Granted, he gets some hits, but that pretty much the only way he gets on base. I, personally, prefer a lead off guy who can draw a walk with some regularity.

Mcmuffin is in the dog house. And the milk man's teets are dried up worse than Ben Roethlesberger's private label beef jerky.

Hell of a play on the Gwynn drag bunt by Our Man Marteen.

And, following a Brian McCann two-out double, Troy "He Might Be Raul Modesi" Glaus strikes out swinging to end it.

LOL I was gonna chime in and say I think Glaus might be the latest Reggie Sanders...

The Braves took the lead! Prado doubled, Chipper walked, McCann doubled, Glaus drove in Prado with a single. Escobar hit it to third and McCann made a great baserunning decision by running home, because he was thrown out but it kept the Padres from turing a double play. Then Heyward got a hit to right and Glaus scored from second.

Now they're walking Melky to load the bases (not a joke) to get to Hanson with two outs.

Hanson grounded out, but the Braves are up 3-1 in the middle of the sixth.

I wish Prado wasn't bunting once or twice a game.

Did Chip just say, "Petco Pecker"?
:D If I'm not mistaken, his father once said "Mike Sh*t" during a broadcast.

I've been as hard as anyone on Chip in recent years. He still annoys me at times, but I've grown to not be as bothered by him as I used to be. There are a lot of announcers that are far worse than him, IMO.

Glaus just hit a BOMB!!!!!!

That's the third time tonight that he's hit the ball right on the money. 6-1 Braves.

Moylan being his regular self. ....Chipper's a boob.

Saito's in for his fourth appearance. He's been great so far this year. Three innings, no hits, one walk and four strikeouts.

Edit: Adrian Gonzalez gets the first hit off of him. Not a terrible pitch, though. He left it up about an inch in a half above the target and Gonzalez hit it up the middle for a single.

Two strikeouts and a broken-bat-groundout later, and Takashi Saito has yet another solid outing. His pitched about as well as you could ask for so far.

Saito takes his time. It slows the game down a little bit but for what ever reason I think that's what makes me feel confident with him up there.

Joe just said that Jo Jo was placed on the 15 day DL before today's game, and that a corresponding roster move would be made before the game tomorrow.

Edit: Joe thinks Mike Dunn is the most likely player to be called up to replace Jo Jo.

3 BB, 12 SO, and yet the Brave offense scores 6 runs. On the other hand the Padres had 6 BB, 11 SO but only got 1 run. Whatever works I guess. I certainly won't complain if the Braves offense makes a habbit of putting up 6 runs. Hanson pitching like this for a decade or so wouldn't be bad either.

It's because someone told him I called him Raul Mondesi. I'm sure of it.

Nice win tonight. Let's take the rubber match tomorrow and build a little momentum going into the home stand.

So, didn't watch the game. Did the dinner and movie deal with the girlfriend. But did just watch the condensed game and here are my observations...

Surprised as hell Chipper didn't break his spleen on that dive. It reminded me of his leap in Pittsburgh a few years ago.

McCann is so friggin' locked in, it's insane.

Glaus finally looked like a ballplayer, which is always good.

Tommy Hanson is going to win a Cy Young some day.
