To be more specific, what is your default player for your computer when you listen to music?
When I first started to build a music collection on my computer as a young high schooler (wow, that was awhile back), I went to Winamp and have always stuck to it. Windows Media Player never had the features and while I have tried itunes, because I have a Sony mp3 player (and not an ipod), I have felt no connection to it.
Where do you stand on media players?

I use Sonic Media but all I use it for is burning "Best of" cds which is a hobby of mine.

I've always used Winamp, and have seen no reason to change.

I used to rock the WinAmp, but I finally broke down a couple of years ago when my wife got an iPod and started using iTunes. Once you get the hang of it, and get all your stuff imported, it's a hell of an awesome player. The option to purchase directly through iTunes and have it pop up in your playlist is great too.

I don't listen to a lot of music on my computer, but I use iTunes. I really like the Genius feature. You choose a song and it compiles a playlist based around features of that song -- most of the time it works out really well, and occasionally it's a huge bust. (It's usually quite comical when it screws up. Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" and Ace of Base's "The Sign" should never be in the same playlist.)

I used to use Winamp on my old computer, but converted to iTunes when my girlfriend got an iPod and we both use Nike+ running equipment that calculates our workouts using our iPods.

I have an iPod, which I will never ever replace unless I break it somehow, so I use iTunes as well.

Winamp. I'm used to it, and it does what I need it to do.

Winamp. I used an early version (2.5.8 I believe) for about 6 years and only recently upgraded when I checked out the new versions and saw they had kept the nice aspects of the classic versions and dumped some of the revisions they made for the 3 version I tried maybe 5 years ago. I like the simplicity of winamp. It reminds me of computers before the internet was everywhere.

I think I've figured you out, KB. You're secretly a 67 year-old man, posing as a 20-something, aren't you? It reminds you of computers before the internet was everywhere...please! :D

Ahhhhh yes! I remember those days. We would program with FORTRAN and use giant stacks of punch cards. Those were good times! Of course it was useless for finding out Matt Diaz's career OPS against right-handed pitchers, but whatever.

This represents my thinking, too. KB also wishes that you would get off his lawn.

I could recommend WinVLC. It's pretty comparable to WinAmp. It's customizable. Once you get the hang of it, you can do just about anything with it. AND I like the video playback on it much, much better than WinAmp.
Of course, I still use WinAmp for a host of plugins that I just can't seem to find for VLC...
I also use iTunes, but only for putting music on my Droid. I do play music from iTunes, but I prefer other applications.

Yep, all of you off my lawn. No fun time after 5:00 P.M because it's bedtime. Sit up straight and milk the cows:furious:
I like my technology straight forward and without every bell and whistle there is defaulted. Firefox is wonderful since it comes very simply but if you want addblock and a fun search bar they're easily added. We waste too much time in life by over complicating things. It's nice when computers are easy to use and don't require head banging. Windows 7 and it's simple crashing is wonderful. Windows 95 required unplugging the computer at times.

I use VLC for my videos and so forth along with DVD playback, but I have stuck with winamp for music. I think I am just so used to it.
