Looks like something in the neighborhood of 5-years, $17M a year. (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/baseball/mlb/12/14/heyman.lackey.redsox/index.html) Maybe now we'll see Lowe moved to whoever didn't get Lackey. I'm glad Lackey "signed" so early.

Agreed. It's great that this and the Halladay trade both happened on the same day. Lowe instantly became the best pitcher available.

Great news ... and I don't see the Braves eating too much of Lowe's salary based on Lackey's deal.

Lowe to the Angels or Lowe to the Yankees seems like the most obvious spots for him to land based on "who can afford him and needs a pitcher". Any other teams fit that bill?

I agree the Yankees can afford him, but I don't think they "need" a pitcher. They may go after a cheap arm that possibly can produce, a Justin Duchscherer, but I think the market for Lowe is pretty limited. The Dodgers would work if they didn't have that messy divorce going on. You never know with the Orioles. Mets need pitching, but Wren probably won't trade within the division, though the Mets could easily overreact. Maybe Texas would have some interest.

But the Angels definitely look like the easiest and best option.

Yep, and I can definitely see the Braves sending Lowe to the Angels for Juan Rivera. It makes sense for both teams.
