Did anyone brave the crowds and get some good deals?

I woke up at 3am on Friday and went to Sears to stand in line behind about 50 other crazy people to be there when the doors opened at 4am. I purchased a 10 inch digital picture frame for $69.99. I also got a radar detector for $29.99, 70% off.

Today we went back out and got some great deals at Old Navy ($5 thermal shirts) and Aeropostale (everything in the store was 60-70% off). Bought the Band of Brothers DVD set for my aunt for $45 at Best Buy, regular $66.

I think that's about it. What about you... or your wives?

I love shopping for bargains but have never braved going into stores in NYC at this time. However, this time I also have about 3 bucks to my name until Tuesday so why would I go? You did great especially with The band of Brothers

I also got some really good deals online. Most stores were having the same sales online, so that kept the traffic down. My aunt purchases a TomTom GPS regular $300 at Best Buy for $149.99... not bad!

I'm officially done Christmas shopping now. Our tree is up and there are plenty of presents underneath. It's a good feeling to know I can just relax until the 24th.

I went to Target with my roommate around 8:30am -- she wanted some 700TC sheets for $30, and I got the Sex & The City movie for $2.99. I didn't have the money to go anywhere in the middle of the night, as much as I'd like a GPS for $70. *shrug*

I looked at the Black Friday sales and they looked terrible, so I didn'tgo anywhere. When the sales are good it's a nice time to pick up something you need cheap.

Jan, a few months ago I broke down and got an Iphone. I love the thing. Absolutely love it. I have become a huge fan of apple products. The bad thing is, they are never on sale. However, on Friday, they did have a slight mark down, so I picked up a mac air and a Pro. I didn't save *that* much, but like I said, apple rarely marks their products down, so any savings you get is a good one.....or that's the logic I use.

I also got a Bose stereo for 10% off. I tried getting an ipod touch at Walmart for 190, I think it was, but it had a 50 dollar gift card with it. I missed out on that one. I went strolling it at 8:00 and the clerk said they were gone by like 5:00 in the morning.

Three or four years ago I went out on a black friday deal and swore I would never do that early thing again, and haven't, so the really good deals are always gone before I get there.

To me, it's just not Christmas shopping unless you wait for the week before Christmas. Otherwise, it's just shopping.
