One pitch after being brushed off the plate, Adam LaRoche hits a solo homer in the 2nd to give the Braves a 1-0 lead.

Maybe we should just start having Series threads till the end of the season. :D
LaRoche homer! 1-0 Braves; Hanson pitches are nasty tonight.

Chipper not in the lineup tonight due to his sore groin, but he hopes to return to the Braves' lineup (http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?content_id=6981814) within the next few days.
Chipper... stop using it so much and it might heal.

Braves add 3 runs in the fourth and are holding a 4-0 lead.
An area of rain, decreasing in intensity, is moving toward the stadium... may arrive around 10 or so. Hopefully Hanson can keep turning some quick innings and the Braves can get this one in.

Great game going on. Hanson is pitching wonderful like always and the Braves have put up some offense.

Glad to see the kid living up to his considerable advance billing.

Adam LaRoche with his second double of the night to go along with his two homers... now hitting .279.
As Joe Simpson said, he's locked in. I hope someone throws away the key.

Braves win! :)
That makes 5 in a row for anyone still counting. I can't help it, but I am.

They're still my team. Just because they have little chance of making the postseason doesn't mean I don't want to see them win.

Like I said in the general discussion thread. It ain't over yet. We still have 2 losses to burn before the fat lady starts warming up. Stranger things have happened. Like Otis Nixon writing a book.

Agreed. If nothing else...I continue to watch because I know in a couple more weeks...there will be no more Braves baseball and a deep depression will set in for me until next March. :(

Hope folks aren't counting out loud... let's not lull the Braves to sleep.

Only 5 games back of the wild card now...but still 3 teams ahead of us. Please Braves...don't get my hopes up again.

If the Braves were 5 games back and today was September 1st, I’d be cautiously optimistic considering how well the Braves have been playing lately. But being 5 games back in mid-September makes it mission impossible. We could go 15-3 the rest of the way and still not get in. But what the hell, let’s go 15-3 (or better) and see what happens. GO BRAVES!
