Re last night's loss at Philly:
Is there a worse defensive outfielder playing now than Garrett "Strangeglove" Anderson? Just asking....

Well, according to the fan ranking thing that someone posted last week, Dunn and one or two others are worse. But I kind of doubt it.
You can't overstate the negative impact of the McLouth and Church injuries at this critical point in the season. Basically, Wren's two signature moves to improve the club are sitting on the bench.
We've had Anderson and Diaz on the corners where they've both botched very catchable balls that have cost us runs. We've had Gorecki come to the plate numerous times at pivital times with runners in scoring position. I would have had more confidence in Francoeur.
When in need of a pinch hitter in the late innings of close games, we've turned to guys like Gorecki and Norton rather than Anderson, Diaz, etc. - depending on who started.
Right now the Braves are in serious need of both good health and good luck if they're going to make a run at the wild card.

Good luck and good health is right.
But whatever happens down the stretch, my hat is off to the starting pitching staff which has been solid all year long. We went into 2009 thinking we had a collection of "innings eaters" who rarely get injured and that's what we got ------- so far.
Based on the performance of their starting pitching, the Braves should have a much better record right now but inconsistent offense and shaky defense has put us in the position where we are today. Last night's game (i.e., not taking advantage of a solid performance by JJ) is a case in point.

Gorecki gives me that sort of feeling Francoeur did. When he's in the lineup, I automatically feel like we're losing before the first pitch.
Anyone else?

I think he's either not ready or not a major-leaguer. He doesn't need to be here, either way.

Gorecki reminds me of Schafer - an automatic out in the 8th spot.
