Rain delay = Spotlight Brian McCann.

Spotlight Brian McCann.
McCann again, two days in a row?
I like McCann, but can't they give the spotlight to, say, Greg Norton?

I've seen Spotlight Jeff Francoeur no fewer than 20 times. It's someone else's turn.
Personally, I'd pay to see Spotlight Matt Diaz. :D

Really awful job by the umpires here.

At least you guys get Braves spotlights. I get Phillies junk.

Kris Medlen will replace Tommy Hanson.
Game will resume shortly.

Might have been a good day to start someone other than Hanson. I'm sure the Braves saw the radar before gametime.

Maybe we can turn him around on short rest to compensate for this, but yeah, it is a waste of a badly needed good starter.

Well, the home plate ump has already lost his focus in this one. This should be fun. Did you see the stunned look of disbelief LaRoche gave him on that ankle high strike?

I hate Ryan Howard

Angel Hernandez is not as bad as Bill Hohn, but close.

Matt "the Machine" Diaz doubles in Church.
That called third strike to Infante was about an inch or two higher than the pitch LaRoche was complaining about. The ump is getting closer to the strike zone. Maybe by the 9th inning he'll get it just right.

I remember when Chipper Jones used to be good.
Middle Man
08-28-2009, 11:13 PM
Chipper's just snakebit right now. Every hard hit ball seems to be right at someone or hangs up a second too long. He must have sold his soul last year to win that batting title.
-Dr. Brave-
08-28-2009, 11:14 PM
O'Flaherty in. Hopefully he'll be better than he was in his last outing.
-Dr. Brave-
08-28-2009, 11:15 PM
Infante in center, replacing Ryan Church... hopefully just as a precaution with the wet grass.

GA throws out the slow dude at second base with a throw from the wall. That's worth the price of admission right there.
-Dr. Brave-
08-28-2009, 11:19 PM
That might get him consideration for a gold glove award, a la Jeff Francoeur.

Probably. He completely misplayed the ball and was way too close to the wall. I don't know if he assumed it was going out or what. If it had bounced by him, the slow dude may have had his one and only career inside the park HR. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good I guess.
-Dr. Brave-
08-28-2009, 11:29 PM
Ryan Howard at the plate.
I'd just plunk him on the first pitch... harder to hit a homer that way.

Diaz now hitting .325 on the season.

Wow. Third dub of the night for Diaz. The dude is unreal right now. I don't know why anyone is giving him anything close to the strike zone.

I was wondering the same thing a couple nights ago.
Our rec league Braves softball team had a pretty weak outfield.

Good hustle by Prado. First and third - no outs. Come on Bravs - make this interesting.
Cj hustles to avoid the DP - Diaz scores.

It's best to be losing close to the Phils late. It's your best shot at beating them.

KJ probably developed a few layers of rust over that good swing.

08-29-2009, 02:39 AM
I'm going to be crazy and say the Braves shell Lee and win 10-5 as Lowe pitches well enough to win given the offensive output, 6 innings 5 earned runs before giving way to Moylan, Gonzalez, and Soriano.
