... it's worth noting that just about every move made during the season has made us a better team

Schafer-> McLouth
Johnson -> Prado
Francoeur -> Church (important because it's given Diaz more at-bats as well)
Kotchman -> LaRoche
Reyes -> Hanson (not a direct move I realize, but this is essentially what happened with our No. 5 spot)
Carlyle/Bennett -> Medlen (again, not direct, but we've definitely upgraded at long reliever)

I wasn't really happy with the team coming out of spring training and the way it was constructed, but you can't knock the way FW and the management has guided the team through the season. Every move that has been made has made us better.

Was "Johnson ---> Prado" Wren or Bobby?

The way a typical baseball organization works, I'm pretty sure they both had a hand in the decision

I absolutely loved the McLouth move. We got a great outfielder and gave up very little talent to get him. I also like how we got Chipper signed to an extension and the Laroche trade was good as well.

I hate the offseason moves on paying WAY too much for Lowe, signing Kenshin Kawakami instead of promoting Hanson (and thus limiting our payroll)... treating Smoltz the way he did and eventually Glavine the way he did. I hated the way we didn't take the most talented player in the draft but settled for cheap signability, etc. The only thing I liked about the offseason moves was the Javier Vasquez trade but I am a little soured that we have basically no depth at catcher whatsoever now if McCann has an extended injury. Flowers was a VERY good prospect to have, but that's what it cost to get a pitcher of Vaquez's calibre.

The real test will be during this offseason when we have so many good pitchers and if he can do something with it to plug the holes, but I guess I'm just not that impressed so far.

I'd give the offseason a D- and the moves during the season a B.
