Well, it's 0-0 through 5, and the Braves are being no-hit. Swell.

-Dr. Brave-

The wild pitch by Vazquez really hurt us.

1-0 Guppies.

The Braves are taking a lot of called third strikes.

Javier Vazquez breaks up the no-hitter with one out in the 6th, a clean single to left.

Go Big Game Javy!

*Sigh*

:(

It would help if the Braves could hit when Vazquez pitches.

Vazquez will be 10-9 with a 3.14 ERA after tonight.

Doubles machine Ryan Church leads off the 7th with a two-bagger to chase Sanchez.

Chipper gets an infield single to break an 0 for 18 string.

Opposite-field homer by LaRoche and it's 5-3.

We can't complain about LaRoche's performance since he came over.

Hurray for offense.

Can we petition for there to be such a thing as a 6-run HR?

Chris_Moderato

Adam with the three-run bomb, to pull the Braves back to 5-3. Damn, that trade is looking good right now.

And LaRoche has surpassed Kotchman on Canada Braves HR page

I'm not throwing in the towel on this game yet, but why is it that the Marlins have seemed to make us their bitches the past couple of years?

Time for a quick rally.

A line of storms is rapidly approaching the stadium.

It seems like they've always been our nemesis.

Rain delay.

5-3 Marlins, top 9, runner on 1st, 1 out, 2-2 count.

Guess we need to pull for extra innings! (Or is that only applicable on the road?)
I drove through that maelstrom that pushed off the game. It was brutal! So much lightning it looked like midday!

Yep I stayed up for this crap. One pitch one out by our decrepid leader. McCann fans. LaRoche up now.

****ty because Philly and Colorado lost today.

Game resumes....

....Leo Nunez hands us our asses in the bottom half of the 9th.

LaRoche bombs one off the wall, but his ADD medication wore off and he gets thrown out trying to stretch it to a double???? whatever. Braves lose.

Attaboy, Adam....your run didn't mean jack and you get pegged at second. Good boy.

I understand what you're saying about LaRoche running into the last out of the game in that situation. He should have stayed put ... but also I blame the 1B coach who should have told him to put on the brakes.

In LaRoche's defense, it looked like a sure double. The relay play was fantastic - great throw and perfect execution.

I'm dissapointed in Chipper and McCann--their at-bats against an unimpressive Leo Nunez looked like they just really wanted to get home.

I stayed through about half an hour of the rain delay, but we made a break for the car as soon as the weather improved. Here are my pictures (http://s224.photobucket.com/albums/dd105/Braves_Love/Braves%20vs%20Marlins%208-21-09/) from last night, if anyone's interested.

The problem with depending on an old guy and a catcher to provide your power is that they are an old guy and a catcher when late August hits.

Jason Heyward...you ready? This offense could use another potential dynamic hitter.

The line-up needs a dynamic hitter - not someone with potential. ;)

Well, in the absence of a real dynamic hitter...potential at least brings hope...right?

Perhaps ... unless the name is Francoeur.

Perhaps ... unless the name is Francoeur.

Hasn't been hope attached to that name in at least three years...unless you're a Mets fan, in which case, you are inherently hopeless.
