Down a run, the Braves offense tries to get the game back to even as Ganderson and Esco open the second with consecutive singles, putting runners on the corners for LaRoche.

Have I mentioned I love the LaRoche trade?
1-1 on an RBI single.

Get healthy, Church. I'm a bit tired of seeing Matty in the lineup every day. For some reason, when he plays every day, he just kind of sucks.

Stauffer commits the cardinal sin of walking the pitcher, but the Braves let him off the hook. How nice of them.

One of the fringe benefits of playing for the Fathers.

Vazquez couldn't put away Headley.
I keep thinking of Blazing Saddles...

Hey, cool, he's out of it. Strands the runner at second and we are headed to the third with the scored still tied at one.

Bases loaded, no outs, and Matty at the plate.

Matty comes through by not lining into a triple play. Success!

It's time to call up Heyward.

That's funny, throwing over to first to keep McCann close.

Vazquez has really lacked his best stuff tonight.

After giving himself no room for error, Vazquez works out of it to keep the Braves on top.

LaRoche gets his third hit, but that means it sets the stage for Double Play Diaz.

Holy crap, Diaz went all "I can play baseball well" and homers.

Two run bomb for Diaz. That's why Heyward shouldn't be called up. We don't need him.

And look at the .119-hitting Vazquez. Gets a single to keep the inning going.

Mujica not fooling anyone. McLouth doubles and there are runners in scoring position for Prado.

Did you guys hear Joe describe the bruise on Norton's leg? He said he thought it was a tatoo that wrapped around his entire calf when he first saw it, and that it was so bad they had to drain it after he got the bruise from fouling a ball off his shin in Atlanta.
McLouth doubles and Prado gets a single, and all of a sudden our offense is back.

Now if we can just replace Chipper and McCann in the lineup, the offense will be really rolling! Less wine tasting, more hitting!

Don't give up guys, we can still win this thing.

Laroche is now 4-4 with a walk. Too bad his contributions won't be felt by my fantasy team until tomorrow. :banghead:

LaRoche is 8 for 13 with 3 walks since joining the Braves.
Save some for September, Adam.
