2009 ChopNation Keeper Football League (Yr IV)

Below are the ending 2008 rosters for selecting this year's keepers. 6 keepers total (2 IOPs, 2 IDPs & 2 manager's choice).

The numbers next to the managers' names indicate their draft position for this year which is the reverse of last year's final standings.

Keepers need to be finalized by 9 pm EDT, Friday August 28th. If you know your keepers before then, please post them in this thread so that people can plan for the draft accordingly. Any final keeper selections not announced on time will be assigned automatically based on total points accumulated in 2008 regardless of injury concerns from 2008 or for 2009 so please make your own selections.

We have a decision to make regarding the IDPs in this league. Yahoo has created broader IDP categories this year: LB, DT, DE, S, CB, as opposed to last year DB & DL. A generic D (not team DEF, but any IDP) is still available and DB & DL are still available, but neither the DB nor the DL categories include LBs.

D = any IDPs
DB = S & CB
DL = DT & DE
LB is left hanging.

Our settings include:
D = 2
DB = 3
DL = 3
(and we have 7 total bench spots to cover offense & defense)

The character length thing has now been changed (thanks Hobbes) so you should be able to post all rosters if you wish.

...although having separate catagories for DE and DT seems crazy. I guess this option would require owners to do a bit more research, and that's ok with me.

Are owners going to be allowed to make trades prior to the draft?

Keepers: the only sure things are L Fitzgerald, Steve Smith, and DeAngelo Williams; otherwise, many question marks.

At this point, everyone has returned to claimed their teams from 2008.

One note, due to a boneheaded move on my part, I scheduled two drafts on the same date at the same time, so I have backed our draft up 1 day to Thursday, rather than Wednesday.

I haven't updated Yahoo yet. I was waiting to see how everyone voted.

As for DB v/s CB & S, no Option #1 had a choice for DB, but Option #2 breaks out DB into CB & S, but increases the D to 3 so teams can employ as many as 4 players at the same defensive position (i.e. if you have 4 LBs, you can put 3 in the D positions & 1 in the LB position).

Flo did start a Dynasty Football League last year and he sent out the registration invitations at the end of July or first week of August. I don't think he comes around these boards very often any more and didn't set up a league thread on it. Seeing as how the league is currently full and you were there last year, I assume since you didn't register, he replaced you. You might send him a message, because the league has not gone live yet.

To make it even scarier, I don't see where these hits were dirty or where better equipment would have prevented the issue.

Just a note, unfortunately due to family I have to give up fantasy football. My wife can barely tolerate fantasy baseball and the time I put in for that, so I am unable to do the fantasy football any longer. I hope whomever takes over my team is able to compete with it!!!

Turns out Ware Freaks was not in this league. His post must have been regarding Flo's Dynasty Football League which he was in; however, I've sent you the league registration info, because Rap notified me he was stepping down this year.
