Tyler Flowers is having a pretty good season. Apparently he was called up to AAA a week or two ago. His AA numbers: Avg = .303, OBP% = .445, OPS = .993, Slg% = .548

With the exception of strikeout rate, his numbers appear to all be improved over last season. I assume that he's playing catcher full-time, but I don't know for sure. If anyone has any additional info on that, let us know.

His career minor league numbers are very similar to Heyward, except with a higher rate of HRs, Ks and BBs.

I've been checking up on Flowers fairly often since the trade. I feel about him the same way way I feel about Feliz - ouch. It looks like he's going to be a masher. I'll feel better about letting him go though if we end up making the playoffs (because Vasquez would of course be a big reason why).

The difference is that Flowers was and would still be blocked by a much better and more capable defensive catcher in Brian McCann.

Neftali Feliz was a starting pitcher so it's different. If I'm the GM, I don't give up a prospect like Feliz unless I know for sure that I'm getting the most value out of him. We gave up a good chunk of our farm system for Teixeira... but we already have a topic discussing this. So I shall say no more.
