Random thought about Sandoval. Am I the only baseball fan in the country who doesn't think "Kung-Fu Panda" is the greatest nickname in the history of the universe? That's all I hear about when the Giants are mentioned..."What a great nickname." Blah.
In fact nicknames as a whole across the league have gone to crap in recent years. Now, most everything is a play off somebody's first initial and the first syllable of the last name. J-Roll, A-Rod, B-Mac. I hate that. Saw someone refer to Jason Heyward the other day as J-Hey. God, I hope that doesn't stick. OK, I'm done with my worthless rant. Back to work for, H-Bill :wall:
"Fat Ichiro" is better than "Kung-Fu Panda."

I agree Ike. We're hitting like crazy, Jurrjens is on the mound, and the Giants aren't hitting worth crap. Bring it on, Lincecum.

This rant is Hobbes-approved.
Nicknaming a baseball player after a character in an animated kids movie is hardly a recipe for nickname greatness. I agree there aren't many good nicknames these days, and those A-Rod, I-Rod, K-Rod names aren't doing the trick.

Nothing beats Man-Ram. It's both unimaginative and it suggests Manny should be playing for the Giants rather than the Dodgers.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Wasn't there a He-Man character named Man Ram that had no neck and just ran into stuff? Sorry, just had an action-figure flashback!

Let's go JJ! This would be a big win for the Braves, and JJ.

Man Ram is quite possibly the gayest name ever for an action figure slash ballplayer.

The character is Ram-man. I looked it up on Manny's return, it was to settle an office bet.

A single and SB by chipper, followed by a 1b by McCann and the Braves are up 1-0 going into the 2nd. Maybe Andy is right.

It's over. With Jurrjens on the mound and against the San Francisco offense... I like our chances with this one. Also, San Fran hasn't won all year when they were down by more than 3 runs! :o

Don showed great timing with the HR. He was talking about how great Yunel, Conrad, and Chip Carey were with the kids at Scottish Rite Hospital. He was talking about how great Yunel was with the kids, the best he had seen of any of the athletes that he (Don) had seen during his trips to the hospital.

JJ coming out after pitching a great game. Hopefully the pen will strand those two runners for him.
Jurrjens is unreal. The Braves should try their damnedest to lock him up, Boras client or not.

Yeah, it works fine for MLB.TV these days.
I have troubles watching MLB.TV Premium on my computer though, as it uses way too much resources and slows my computer down to a crawl. My computer is a bit on the old side, but I've got a good bit of memory and a fast connection, so I don't know why it needs so much processor power.

I'll be making the journey from Arkansas in September, and it will be my 1 year-old son's first game. Big sister has already got him doing some sort of toddler variation of the Tomahawk Chop, so I think everything is going to be fine. Arm action is a little crooked but the voice pitch is about as spot on as one could expect from a 14 month old.
