Nate looked to be in pain last night, and Joe S. mentioned possible back issues. This could explain his slump. I had disc surgery myself from playing softball and it is a painful, long term mend. I hope they give him a week off. Better to nip it now than push until surgery is required. As most of you likely know, disc issues are very common in baseball (Helton, Furcal, etc.) because of all the torque upon the lower back from swinging the bat.
Does anyone have any news about his condition?
We could go GA--Church--Diaz for a week or two so Nate can get some rest. Church could lead off.
