Well, the game is finally going after a rain delay pushed the start back. In the top of the first, McCann singled off Ubaldo and stole second, but Freeman destroyed his bat on a grounder to end it.

So...they talk up Beachy not walking anybody in his last two starts and he...walks CarGo to open things. Thanks guys.

Report on Heyward is he is available to pinch hit or pinch run. Joe thinks he could have started, but he was left out as per, I guess, the Bobby Cox rule.

How did that become a double? Should have been a single but Hinske never threw the ball in after he got to it.

Wow...Beachy kinda sucks in Coors. 3-0.

Beachy can't pinpoint his fastball, and hitters are laying off the ones that just miss.

Wow, Gonzo walks without swinging the bat.

That was obviously an imposter.

Tulo crushes another one that barely stays in the yard.
Beachy just doesn't have it tonight.

Beachy doesn't have it tonight...go Cubbies, keep beating the Phillies!
/edit...Hobbes...how dare you think just like me...and before me.

Don't know why Beachy isn't using his changeup more; it's been effective the few times he's thrown it.

*sigh* I really want to get another CF. Schafer isn't it.

This has got to be Beachy's first game in Coors, right? Maybe it's getting in his head, or he's having trouble adjusting to the effect of the altitude on his pitches.

Yay Uggla.

I'm thinking it's the long lay off. He hasn't pitched in ten days.

And with the score now 10-2 it seems like a good time to shuffle off to bed.

It's time for Gearrin and Proctor to go bye-bye.

Gearrin's strange. When he's good, he seems to be really good. When he's bad, he's downright awful. Of his now 18 games, he has put up zeros in 12 of them. But in four of the six run-allowing outings, he has given up at least two. In two of his last three games, he has given up at least four runs. The game between...K's the side. There is talent there...and there is a Farnsworthian factor of having the ability to take a fire and make it an inferno.

Yet another walk. :banghead:
I'm searching for a fast-forward button.

Seriously, why is Scott Proctor still here? Was Oscar Villarreal that busy? How about Brad Clontz? I'd even take back Roberto Hernandez at this point.
Paging Chad Paronto...

Why in the world is Martinez down in triple AAA while these two clowns are here?

Combination of yes, his first game at Coors, and it's his first game in 10 days. Not sure if you're watching the Braves broadcast, but after Beachy came out they showed him sitting with JJ on the bench and the announcers were talking about those two commiserating about their atypical post-ASG starts. JJ's hat was all crazy. I kinda loved it. :)
We can score 10 runs to win in the 9th! It's Coors! :D

Gearrin and Proctor almost entirely by themselves have caused our team ERA to go from 1st in the league to 4th in the past couple of weeks.

And yet they remain on the roster. Proctors presence is especially troubling since he shown no signs of being an effective reliever.

Uggla showing signs of life is great. There's no reason he can't reach 30 HR and get his BA and OBP to more respectable numbers. Proctor and Gearrin should be sent to AAA faster than Matt Diaz chasing a ball near a wall. I don't see how the Braves lose anything by trying someone else.
