We better score plenty more off Myers. Dude has no stuff.

Boy, Hanson's looking sharp. Has struck out five in a row. The heater hasn't broken 91 (mostly 89-90), but he's spotting it pretty well, and his breaking stuff has been filthy.

7 K's in a row for Hanson.

McCann drives a 3-0 pitch into the seats for a 2-run job. Braves up 4-0.

4-1 now. Lee doubled off Hanson in the 6th for the only Astros' run.
Hanson just recorded his 13th stikeout.

Not a fan of using Venters in the 9th with a 4-1 lead. Should have let Sherrill finish it off, especially with a lefty leading off and heading into the lower part of their lineup.

Venters leads the majors in appearances.

Braves win! That's our second straight sweep, good for a 6-game winning streak. Now 10 games over .500.

Not quite a sweep. We get to beat up on the Astros again tomorrow. :)

He's handling his save opportunities very well. He'll never ask for a day off and he'd probably complain if they sat him for three days when he feels he should have been in the game - guess he's one of those who thinks he'll rest when he's dead.

That mentality is certainly to be commended but his damn arm is going to fall off at this pace.

He's no pansy. I read somewhere (maybe on this site) that he at one point continually begged McDowell over the bullpen phone to let him pitch, even though he'd thrown consecutive days, and McDowell eventually hung up on him after getting tired of dealing with it.

That was when he was being benched (for lack of a better term) with biceps soreness. I love that story - that McDowell hung up on him when he phoned the dugout for the third time on a day the team "needed" him but the brass felt he was unavailable. ❤
