Hello everyone,

I’m expecting to go to New York for tourism in August and at this occasion i’ve planified to watch one ball game with the Braves playing Mets for the series of 5-6-7th of August.
I prefer being at a night session, and I want to know the system of pricing in USA ( I come from France ).
To be precise I would like to know if it’s better to buy tickets now or wait few days before the ball game, I don’t know if buying now allows fewer price or it doesn’t change anything.
If anyone has gone to Citi Field, can you tell me the best seats in this ball park at a reasonable price ?

Thanks

Braves Fever, I hope that someone more knowledgable than me can help out because I have not been to Citi Field. Here is a really good link about that ball park though:

Also, I don't think tickets will get cheaper as the time gets closer. You should probably go ahead and buy the tickets for the seats you want on the day you want.

I hope that helps.... :D

I've never been to Citi Field either, but I can speak to traveling to two other stadiums. When a friend and I went to Busch in 2007, she bought tickets on Stubhub a few months in advance. The prices stayed about the same until right before the game (this was the year after the Cardinals won the World Series). Last year I went to Wrigley, and a different friend and I also bought tickets on Stubhub. We waited later to buy and the prices went up as the date got closer. :( I'd suggest buying your tickets as early as possible! Hope you have a great trip!

I've been able to get some pretty good last minute ticket deals on Craigslist.org. But I agree with everyone else that it's probably best for you to get your tickets in advance so you can control seat location and plan your trip. Meeting up with someone to get your tickets can also be a hassle.

Have fun in New York. It's a great city but nowhere as interesting as Paris.

Coming from France I would probably want to get my tickets well in advance to confirm plans. But the Mets suck this year and good seats are going for cheap on StubHub a few days before the games. If you care to wait a bit you can likely score better seats for a cheaper price via StubHub or Craigslist.

Here's a new way to search for tickets at Citi Field.

First off I have never been to Citifield either although I live in New York City. One thing I will say though is that you shouldn't use the word "planified" because no one will know what you're talking about. Paris is great but I disagree with luvdembraves because there isn't another city on earth as interesting and with more things to do than in New York City.

It's true, the word "planified" is correct but uncommon English. The vast majority of native English speakers would simply use plan/planning/planned. But it isn't incorrect, and I think most people would figure it out.

For what it's worth, the word in English is actually borrowed from a similar French word with a similar meaning. See here (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/planify).

So you just carry on with your English, Braves_fever. It's far better than any of the French spoken @ ChopNation! :D

Finally I've bought tickets for the first game of the series the 5th of August on Stubhub. The seats are twenty rows just beyond the Braves dugout.

The quick view from the seats area shown on the Mets website seems to give a good watch for the game, quite near of the players.

Thanks for your replys, i just have to buy plane tickets and make hotel reservation for my trip now !

I hope there will be no cancel due to rain, and of course Braves win !

Avez-vous une grande visite! (I have a French last name and took a few years of French but really don't speak it. My paternal grandfather was from the Pyrenees area in Southwestern France. Great to see a Braves' fan from France.)
