Top of the third now with the Braves leading 3-0. Chipper just made an extremely impressive play diving to his left, spinning and making the throw to first. It didn't matter, though, because Drew Stubbs was running.
Scoring summary: Chipper walked with two outs in the first, McCann singled and Chipper advanced to third, and Hinske singled to drive in Chipper.
In the second, Freeman started the inning with a double, Gonzalez singled to put runners on first and third, Schafer bunted for a single which also scored Freeman from third and Prado singled to drive in Gonzalez.

Lowe walked four in three innings and didn't give up a run. That's hard to do.

McCann with a solo blast. 4-0 now. It's odd for us to score so many early runs.

Freeman with a solo shot of his own. 5-0.

We manage to score some runs and our pitching gives the lead away. Ugh. McCann just hit his second homer though. He's kinda awesome.

Lowe's probably #5 on the Braves starting pitching depth chart right now.

Wow. Dan Uggla has exactly one hit in the past seven days. A total of 15 for the month of May. I bet Frank Wren is gonna put a hit out on him here soon to avoid paying him the remainder of his contract.

I'm liking what Schafer has brought to the leadoff spot--speed, patience, and the ability to bunt. Right now, I feel better with him in the lineup than McLouth. This coming from someone who'd basically given up on Schafer.

And he plays really good defense. He made a catch at the wall in the left-center field gap the other day that I don't think McLouth would have come close to making.

Yeah, I gave up on Schafer too. One week isn't enough to make me a believer yet but he's heading in the right direction.
